"NEW NEWS REGARDING TEAM ROSTERS"
A. Each GKA team is required to submit a typed roster to the GKA President or designee prior to the start of the first league game. Copies of all rosters shall be delivered to the Equipment Manager. Rosters will also be submitted to the opposing coach prior to the weigh-in before every game. Teams not submitting rosters will play under penalty of forfeiture. Necessary game day corrections in ink shall not be cause for game forfeiture. Rosters shall be in a format approved by the league and shall include the following information for each player:

1. Jersey number
2. Name
3. Weight
4. Date of Birth
5. Age as of June 1st for 9-13 year old players
Age as of Sept. 1st for 8 year old players

B. Once a players name appears on a GKA team roster and that player plays even one down in any game for that team, that player cannot play even one down in any subsequent lower age team game. Rosters will be given to the President or designee prior to the start of the first game. Any violation of this rule will result in the forfeiture of any game in which the ineligible player participated.

C. There can be no new players registered or issued equipment for any GKA team after the second game of the season without approval of the Board of Directors.

D. If any" A", "B", or "C" squad of any team has 36 or more players by the time the Board of Directors meets to decide on the schedule of league games each year, the players on the squad in question may be divided to form two separate squads at the direction of the Board of Directors for league and playoff purposes for that year.

E. A separate roster for each squad must be submitted in accordance with paragraph A herein. Once a player's name appears on the roster of a squad, he/she cannot play in any game for the team's other squad. Any violation will result in forfeiture of any game in which the ineligible player participated. Every eligible player will be required to participate in league games.

F. The GKA will only pay for officials for Board approved games.

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

A) The eligibility of a player will be determined by the individuals age as of September 1st for an 8 year old and June 1st for ages 9-13.
B) 
1. No player can weigh less than 50 lbs.

2. Freshmen Team to consist of 8 and 9 year old players, who can weigh no more than 105
lbs prior to participation in the first league game.

3. Junior Varsity Team consist of 10 and 11 years old players, who can weigh no more
than 135 lbs prior to the first league game.

4. Varsity Team to consist of 12 and 13 years old players, who can weigh no more
than 165 lbs prior to the first league game. A 13 year old entering the 9th grade in high school
will be ineligible.

C) Maximum allowable weight for all players can increase one (1) pound per week after the
first scheduled game, but not to exceed five (5) pounds weight gain for the season.

D. All weigh-ins will be conducted using scales owned by the G.K.A, and will be observed
by no less than two (2) board members and by a coach from a neutral team. Players that
weigh in at more than 175 lbs or less than 50 lbs at time of equipment issue will not
be registered and will not be issued any equipment.

E) All players will be weighed prior to the start of each game with both feet on scales.
Weight will be league weight plus 10 lbs for equipment. Overweight players will no be
allowed to play until next GKA game when the player will be weighed again. We will
allow players to play with allowable league weight for a week whether or not they made
the original weight for that age group. In the season if a player never comes within the
applicable weight limit by the 4th regular season game, the player may be dropped from
the GKA and the registration fee will be refunded in full.

F) Each player will be required to pay a fee of $85.00 to participate in the GKA each year,
which the sum must be paid in full to the treasurer of the GKA, or designee, at or prior
to the time of equipment issue to the player.

G) Each player will be required to sumit a photocopy of his/her birth certificate, a signed
anti harassment policy signed by player and parent, a fully completed and signed
GKA Player's contract, written evidence of a physical exam, and approval of GKA
participation from a physician or a physician assistant dated on or after January 1st of
each year of at time of equipment issue to the player.

H) Uniforms and helmets will not be marked or "decorated" in any way without prior
approval of the Board. Players shall not substitute any equipment that is issued by the
league without approval of the Board except for mouthpieces. Only tennis shoes and
molded rubber, plastic cleats are allowed for athletic shoes. Players in violation of this rule will
not be eligible to play in any league game until the situation is corrected. Parents are allowed to purchase a hard shell chinstrap that meets league requirements.

I) If a player signs a GKA Player's Contract with a GKA team, he must play for that team for
the entire season, unless the head coach of the team he first signed with gives the player a
release. Such releases shall not be unreasonably withheld.
